The consciousness... - Wisdom Drops11-02-2012 07:04
With this post, I initiate the series “Wisdom Drops”, in which I would like to present a set of aphorisms and famous sentences, in a graphical envelope.
“The consciousness sleeps in stones, breathes in plants, thinks in animals and discriminates in man”
This sentences has been taken from the Upanishads (it is the final part of Vedas, an ancient collection of indian religious writings). In the original version it is “Brahman”, rather than “the consciousness”, but in this way it is more straightforwardly understandable by those who, like me, do not have a deep knowledge with the complex indian religion.
Humanity needs a wider vision of what is all around: if we begin to look at ourselves as part of a network of interconnections that links us to all reality, rather than single and separated from the rest, the world would be a better place.
